My review copy of Disney Infinity arrived today. Well, it is not exactly a review copy because I’m not obligated to write a review with it but rather I’m writing a post on Friday all about the launch of Disney Infinity 2.0.
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the game as much as I do. I have Infinity 1.0 and never ever play it. Now with Marvel Super Heroes as part of the game it is much improved. So far I’ve only played with the Avengers Play Set and the characters that are part of the starter kit.
Prior to the launch of the game I had pre-ordered the game from Amazon.com and there was a deal where you got the game, a package of power discs, 3 extra figures and the Spider-Man Play Set. That whole thing was $119, I added the Guardians of the Galaxy set as well. Then I found out that I got the shop where I’d get my own copy of the game. I re-thought that purchase decision and cancelled my whole order. I’ve got Skylanders coming out in two weeks and wanted to spend my money on that game instead. I had also made an order for figures through the DisneyStore.com site because I had a credit there. I tried to cancel it but was unable to do so. So I let it arrive. I’ve been a part of the Imagelogger program for almost a year now and I am proud to say that I am now DSLR free. Samsung did a Ditch the DSLR event in New York back in June and while I could not attend I asked my contacts if I could send them my DSLRs to ditch them in favor of new NX30s that I will be using to create an after school photography program at my daughter’s school.
I know that many more people were unable to attend the event in New York but you have the chance to Ditch your DSLR during a LIVE virtual Ditch event. It is called “Virtual Ditch Day” and it is a program where Samsung has partnered with Amazon.
WHAT: A live 1-hour event featuring video, product information and demos from Samsung highlighting the Samsung NX system. Viewers will receive exclusive access to Samsung deals and tips from photography experts on how to use Samsung’s NX cameras to shoot fast and share faster.
DITCH Details – Participants will be able to earn $250 towards the purchase of a Samsung NX300 or NX30 camera, when they trade-in their qualifying DSLR (more info available here: Virtual Ditch Day)
Right now there are Samsung videos on the site to help showcase some of Samsung’s NX features and the capabilities of the system. I hope to see you at the event.
