Chalk, Walk, Good Talk

Photo-A-Day #1917

Allison and I are big TV fans, we spend many nights watching TV as I write my blog posts. We are fans of all sorts of shows and the DVR is a magical device in our home. It is great for keeping some of Eva’s favorite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse shows and we use it to capture our favorite shows and specials that we’d love to watch again. Sometimes we get behind on the shows and have a little DVR cleaning night where we clear out everything. Continue reading Chalk, Walk, Good Talk

Albino “Pink” Dolphin in Lake Calcasieu

Allison sent me a link to this story about a “pink” dolphin that was spotted with a pod of other dolphins in Lake Calcasieu. The dolphin is actually an albino and has pink eyes. That is quite a story and I think that there should be a post about it on Dolphin Bubbles, the SeaWorld blog for dolphins.

If that news didn’t make you smile then you have to watch this awesome video I watched this morning. It is a short film, 16 minutes, starring TJ Thyne of Bones. The short film is called Validation.

Please watch before you read my comments below.

Did you watch it? If you didn’t then don’t read my comments below as they could possibly be spoilers.

Didn’t you just love that little film, it was inspiring. I really enjoyed how things came about throughout the whole film. No violence, no swearing, good storytelling and I love the Black and White. The evolution of the characters and I really loved the realization that no one had ever validated Hugh before. I know it might be overly sentimental but it worked, it left me smiling. I hope it did the same for you.

DVR Fixed: Cable Catch up

Premiere of NBC's

Now that the DVR and Cable is fixed I can get caught up. I’ve watched a bunch of shows and need to catch up. Here are my impressions of shows this week. Spoilers may be in here of Course.

Tuesday Night
I watched the Mentalist with Allison. Not digging this show. It is like a grown up version of PSYCH that is darker. There were some interesting points but in all I am not hooked. Tuesday is a pretty nothing night in my opinion. A night to catch up on blog stuff.

Wednesday Night
Bones : The Crank in the Shaft.
Oh man that opening with everyone in the elevator and then the shredded leg falls in. Yuck. We get another new intern this week who is very very morbid. I love how Cam tried to engage him over and over only to get more and more freaky answers. That was pretty funny. Angela and Hodgins seem to be getting their relationship slowly worked out. We see Sweets in a smaller role this week and much mroe interaction between Booth and Bones. I like how they worked together in this episode. The whole thing about the chair and Booth’s back was funny as well. A decent episode.

Knight Rider: “Journey to the End of the Knight”
I hope that they don’t name everything with Knight. It may be camp but it is silly. This episode we see Michael involved in an underground racing circuit that is also involved in selling high tech secrets and weapons to our enemies. This plot was very poorly contrived. It was fun to see how Michael pushes the limits of K.I.T.T. The sexual tension between Michael and Sarah is still playing out. I’d rather see less tension between the two and just have them be together. It would make the danger better. I am wondering when they will have K.I.T.T. turn into something other than the attack mode and the truck. I was hoping Kitt would switch to a Ford GT. That would be cool. Basically I am watching the show for the transformations and the camp of it all. I catch it on Hulu.com.

Thursday Night
My Name is Earl Both Episodes
I still love this show for Jason Lee’s delivery of lines, the cast of characters is hilarious and both episodes were a riot this week. Nothing major revealed, just more stuff on the list. I like that they have gone back to the list. I’d like to see how far along Earl is on that list.

He Said: Bones, Lost 05/09/07

Lost: Well Holy Crap is just about all I can say about last night’s episode of Lost. I did not see that coming at all. I can only say that Holy Crap!

This night’s episode centered on Ben Linus. Ben finally reveals that he was not really born on the island, however he certainly was re-born on that island. We get a flashback laden episode on everyone’s favorite creepy bug eyed freak, Benjamin Linus. We learn that Ben was originally on the island as a son of a Dharma Initiative Work Man, who happens to be ‘Roger WorkMan’, the guy that Hurley found in the old VW van.

Ben came into the world and his mother died that day. His parents were hiking when his mother went into labor and she had Ben and then died. Ben’s father blamed him for the death of his mother and never let Ben forget that. Ben then bided his time and brought about the death of everyone on the island from the Dharma Initiative (however I am unsure as to whether patch eye was Dharma or not.)

John returns to The Others with his dead father on his back. He demands that Ben take him to see Jacob. John also beats the heck out of eye patch. What I am unsure of is whether Ben is the man in charge of everything and how he got to be that way. I would have thought that Richard would have been in charge. And why does Richard look so much younger than Ben? The years have not been good to Ben.

It looks like Jack and Juliette are coming clean about their secret plans. I have a feeling that their plans involve a certain french woman.

How did John lose his gun to Ben? How was that possible? The Jacob thing was creepy and I am still unsure about that. Will John die? Is he gone? How can he be dead when this episode I found his performance spectacular, this is the John Locke of legend, the John Locke I have wanted to see back in action. How can Ben have cut him down so easily? So frustrating! 2 more episodes left.

Bones: I know what I said about Fox and how much I think they suck but they have kept Bones on the air for reasons unknown. I mean the show is awesome and I love the characters so it stands to reason that Fox would have canceled the show long ago. Tonight’s episode was about a TV chef who was murdered.

When Bones and Booth find the body it is glowing like a glow stick. Later we find out through Hodgens that this was because of some sea urchin from a sushi place. We also get to see Bones sharing some emotions and that makes her more real and vulnerable. She is starting to evolve and that is a good thing.

We also see the long awaited “yes” from Angela to Hodgens. Although Hodgens didn’t ask Angela again to marry him. Instead he asked Angela to simply be his love. And then Angela asked Hodgens to marry her. I love the two of them together. I have enjoyed their relationship building throughout the seasons.

Next week is the season finale and the wedding of Angela and Hodgens (she wanted to have a big wedding in a week, good thing Hodgens is rich). I’m not sure I want the season to be over yet, but I am looking forward to season 3. I am sure we will get some sort of cliffhanger/teaser for the next season.
