Today we went to Build-A-Bear to create a bear to donate to Toys for Tots. When I was at Time to Play I learned about the program with Build-A-Bear and Toys for Tots. We received a $40 gift card to use to buy a bear for the Toys for Tots program and we also kicked in our own money plus we bought some gift cards and an article of clothing for each of our kids. Opinions are 100% our own.
Build-A-Bear has a Santa’s Workshop theme to it starting on November 1st. This Saturday (11/15) our local store is having an event where they are going to have 100 bears to stuff and kids can come and help stuff the bears and give them hearts and names and more. Those bears are going to be donated to Toys for Tots. We learned that you can bring any of your Toys for Tots toys to your local Build-A-Bear and they have a donation box there. A couple of weeks ago Eva earned herself a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop® and I had been sent a $25 gift card so that I could make a My Little Pony plush and review my trip on this blog. Well, I had my heart set on Rainbow Dash but she was not there. I gave my number to Megan who helped us with Eva’s bear and she called me last Thursday to let me know that Rainbow Dash was back in stock. I couldn’t get there until today so after school Eva and I ran over to Build-A-Bear Workshop®. She used some of her spending money to get Villia a new outfit. Disclosure: I received a gift card for Build-A-Bear Workshop to chronicle making a My Little Pony plush, but they were out of Rainbow Dash and I’m not a Pinkie Pie Fan. However, Eva had earned a trip so we went in to make a new plush friend for her. Opinions about Build-A-Bear Workshop® are 100% my own and we purchased everything on our trip today ourselves. I’m going back to make a Rainbow Dash when she is back in stock.
For the past month or so Eva has had to wear knee stabilizing braces and a bar and boots to bed. She is wearing these to help correct some major pigeon-toed-ness. I’m sure that there is some more medical technical name for this but that is basically the idea. Wearing braces when you sleep is not a fun experience and probably should have been something that we did for Eva when she was younger and didn’t completely understand. But she is old enough to understand and also to dislike the whole experience. We made a deal with her, if she wore her braces and boots for a month with a good attitude then she would earn a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop®.
