We received a copy of the latest Daniel Tiger DVD to watch and tell you about. Opinions are my own. The newest DVD is called “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and contains a collection of various Daniel Tiger episodes. There is a mixture of episodes from various seasons including some of the more recent episodes about getting out into nature.
Being home with Andrew every day comes with challenges. He’s three now and pushing his boundaries. He’s trying a bunch of new things but he really still loves watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. He sings the songs all the time. I’ve been trying to take him on hikes and such more and more this year with the nice weather and he now sings the nature related songs. But there are days when I need to get some work done and Andrew gets many episodes of Daniel Tiger to watch. This DVD is great because I don’t have to turn on a new episode every half hour. Not that I leave him watching TV for hours on end but sometimes you can’t get a thing done in 30 minutes.
Because I am a PBS Kids VIP (Very Involved Parent) I received a special Explore the Outdoors Kit with many fun things. Included were Outdoors Activity Sheets, Stickers, A Book, A Dinosaur Train Nature Trackers DVD, a Screener of all new episodes of Dinosaur Train and Wild Kratts plus other things like Seed Stakes and an adventure journal. April is Explore the Outdoors month and on April 6 all new outdoors themed content will be available on air, online and on mobile.
At our home we do try and get outside and get into nature often. Last year we started gardening with the kids with a small patio planter. This year we are going to expand upon that. We’ll probably use the seed stakes to plant even more chives around the house. The previous owner planted a bunch of it and there are so many plants around the house. It smells great when I mow the lawn.
We also joined the Audubon Society last year and renewed that membership this year. We tried to get out to as many Audubon locations last year and hope to do even more this year.
