Nobody Like Gaston – Josh Gad sings the Gaston Song in this new Clip from Beauty and the Beast

Gaston and bar patrons

One of the most entertaining songs in Beauty and the Beast, in my opinion, is the song about Gaston. The song that LeFou sings to all the people at the tavern that breaks out into a brawl with Gaston the clear winner. I’m interested in seeing how the whole thing plays out in the live action movie, but if this clip below is any indication then I think we are going to be very pleased. Josh Gad is certainly appropriately cast as Gaston’s number one fan, LeFou.

I also have a couple of fun Character posters below.

An Extended Look at Cars 3

Cars 3 Racing ImageSome of my friends got to see Lightning McQueen up close and personal at the Detroit Auto Show. They even got to learn more about the upcoming movie, Cars 3. I’m a bit jealous because I am really looking forward to this film. I loved the first Cars movie, was a bit turned off to the second one but think that there will be a return to greatness in the third installment. It already has captured my attention with that very first teaser video of McQueen’s horrible crash. What will happen after that? Maybe this extended look will answer some questions.

My Favorite Song from Moana – We Know The Way

Moana Poster

Of all the songs from Moana I am most impressed by the song “We Know The Way”. It is a beautiful song and I have the full clip of it below. The song is written and performed by Opetaia Foa’i and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The MOANA original motion picture soundtrack, the two-disc deluxe edition and the digital deluxe edition soundtrack are available wherever music is sold and streamed. More about Moana below.

Full Clip of My Favorite Moana Song “You’re Welcome!”

Youre WelcomeOne of my favorite songs in Moana is “You’re Welcome”. Andrew and I sing this song over and over. He also maybe made me play the clip below about 10 times straight. He doesn’t like when I sing the song, though. So I can sing it to bug him when he’s bugging me. “You’re Welcome!”

MOANA stars Dwayne Johnson (voice of “Maui”), newcomer Auli’i Cravalho (voice of “Moana”) was directed by Disney legends Ron Clements & Don Hall (“Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Princess and the Frog,” etc.) with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda (of “Hamilton” fame). But there is another main character in MOANA that was sometimes difficult to work with…

Moana is Out in Theaters Now

Moana in Theaters Now

On Monday the whole family was treated to an advanced screening of Disney’s Moana. This is a beautiful film that was both funny and amazing. The music was some of the best I have heard in a long while. We ended up listening to the Moana Spotify station non-stop since we saw the movie. Songs have been stuck in our heads and smiles on our faces remembering that movie.

Moana as a character is fantastic. She is strong, determined and is searching for her place in the world. She is drawn to the ocean against the wishes of her father. Despite her love for her family she disobeys her father and journeys the open ocean. It is her strong love for her family and her connection to her people that she does this. She is on a journey of self discovery and it will take all of her courage and determination to succeed.

A major part of the movie was about wayfinding. Wayfinding is Polynesian navigation that has been used for thousands of years to make long voyages across thousands of miles of open ocean. I learned about this during the Summer when I visited the Hokulea when it sailed into Woods Hole. The ships in Moana look very much like the Hokulea. Seeing Moana learn how to to sail was inspiring.

The movie was also very funny. We loved Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui. He had some great lines in the movie. From the trailer you see him jump into a deep hole and a few minutes later yells “I’m Still Falling!” On our way home from the movie we said that it looked like Andrew was falling asleep. His eyes were closed and he looked asleep, but he pops open one eye and says, “I’m still falling.” Even funnier after having seen the movie.

The water was a character in the movie, too. You can see some more funny moments with water in the featurette below.

Cars 3 Teaser Trailer – Everything Will Change

Cars 3

I got major goosebumps watching the teaser Trailer for Cars 3. It looks like the series is getting back to its roots and this time Lightening McQueen is going to face his toughest challenge ever. Everything Will Change.

My prediction for the movie is that after this accident McQueen will become a mentor to another racer. He’ll take on the role that Doc Hudson had in the first movie and at the same time will be fighting his own demons to recover.

SwagsGiving Is Over – Last Prize – The Kodak Zi8

I’m kind of sad about this contest being over. I’ve enjoyed being able to make videos and give away fun and enjoyable things to a bunch of great people. I wish I had a prize for everyone and I appreciate the dedication that people had to entering the contest.

I do giveaways almost every week if I can help it so please subscribe to Benspark.com to be up for the latest giveaways. I have some fun stuff to give out during December so keep coming back. My giveaways won’t be on the epic scale of SwagsGiving but they will continue to be pretty awesome.

I guess I stalled long enough. Continue reading SwagsGiving Is Over – Last Prize – The Kodak Zi8

Photo-A-Day #1893

I am so excited to announce that today I received two Kodak PlaySport Waterproof HD Digital Video Cameras. These were provided to me for use at the Roger Williams Paddle that will be taking place July 17th in Providence, RI. I’ll be using those cameras along with my XShot Kayak mounts too.

I am very very excited about using these cameras. Not only do they do 720p video but they also take 5MP stills as well. That is great when I am kayaking and instead of taking out a second camera to take stills I can capture them with the digital video camera. This will be so much fun. So far I’ve only taken them out of the box, read the instruction books, set the date and started charging them. So yeah I guess I have done a bit already. I will be practicing with them so that I am ready to use them to record an interview with Jennifer Cisney from Kodak. She is going to be at Evo’10 Conference. We’ll be talking about the PlaySport and the upcoming Kayak trip.

I’ll be talking about these cameras often so know that I received them free of charge and all opinions expressed are mine alone including my impressions while using them. I’ll also be making videos with these cameras and so look for this graphic at the end of each video. Also take a look at KODAK online and connect with the great people in KODAK Social Media (Kodak on Facebook).

This video was shot with a Kodak PlaySport

So, thank you Kodak and especially Jennifer and Tina who are working with me.

There are two more days left to enter my Jawbone contest. I am running a Father’s Day Gadget contest. Win a Jawbone ICON Hero for Dad this Father’s Day

You Are Going To Take A Trip To The Seaside

You Are Going To Take A Trip To The Seaside

You Are Going To Take A Trip To The Seaside

I look at this one and think, well, duh, we go to the Cape every summer and actually will probably start going soon to get the house ready. But I’ve been thinking about going to get my kayak soon so that I can go out on the weekends with my friend Keith from Ten Mile River Watershed Council. I want to help do some river clean ups and film some Wired Kayaker videos.

Wired Kayaker?

For a while I had a blog called The Wired Kayaker. I would go on my kayak and make videos and post them, you can see all 6 of them by clicking on them on the sidebar. I decided to get rid of that blog and incorporate those posts into this blog. You can see all of those posts by looking through the Wired Kayaker category. I noticed that I hadn’t been updating that blog and that kayaking was pretty seasonal so in the winter I lost interest because I wasn’t on the water. I also figure that I shouldn’t separate that part of me to a different blog. This is the blog that people read to see what is going on with me and my kayak adventures certainly are things that go on with me.

This Fortune Made Me Think of My Xacti

I made my 1st Wired Kayaker video (podcast) using my Sanyo Xacti C4. This was not a waterproof camera like my Sanyo Xacti EC1. You’ll be hearing more about Sanyo Xacti these days because Sanyo/Fisher contracted some pretty big name YouTube personalities and gave them some of the new cameras. These are HD still/video cameras that are waterproof. These would be perfect cameras for my Wired Kayaker videos (podcasts). I wonder if Sanyo would like to sponsor the podcast?

Here are the new Sanyo Models.

Lovin’ The Flip

The Flip
Photo-A-Day #1428

Yesterday I received a package from UPS. That package contained a new little piece of tech. I decided to purchase the Flip Mino HD. This little video camera is so sweet. I got it because I had a little “stimulus package” money of my own and decided to use it to help the economy. Also I wanted something simple to use, to upload quick videos of Eva so her grandparents could see her doing fun things like Reading with Allison.

That was the 1st video I took with the flip. I’m looking forward to taking many more.

I also got to pick two “free” accessories when I bought the Flip. I got a grey neoprene case. I find it hard to remove the Flip from the case. It is a little too snug, plus if you use the wrist strap, and I’m going to use that, it doesn’t fit too well.

The other item is the Action mount. I am going to use that to strap the Flip to my bike. I haven’t read very good things about it and find that the gorillapod works much better to keep items stationary. I use the gorillapod to attach my waterproof video camera to the kayak, I’m going to test the Flip Action Mount and the gorillapod to see which works better to keep a camera stationary.
