Can’t Get Enough Dragons? DreamWorks Animation and Netflix Has Your Fix #StreamTeam

Dragons: Race to the Edge returns for a fifth season on Netflix. At this point the Dragon Riders have defeated Viggo and have destroyed the Dragon Eye. You’d think that all was calm and safe but you’d be wrong. The Hunters are still a threat and there is a new villain who can control dragons. It is up to Hiccup, Toothless and the Riders to battle the Hunters. New and old allies will be there to help. Once Hiccup learns who the true leader of the Dragon Hunters is it threatens the course of dragon-kind. It is a new race, a race to defeat the Hunters once and for all. It all starts on August 25th on Netflix.

Here’s the season 5 trailer.

There are more clips from season 5. Continue reading Can’t Get Enough Dragons? DreamWorks Animation and Netflix Has Your Fix #StreamTeam

DreamWorks Dragons Race to the Edge Season 4 is On Netflix This Friday!

Dragons Race to the Edge

I have to admit, I got way behind on Dragon Riders: Race to the Edge. I love the How To Train Your Dragon Series very much. It is something really funny and emotional that resonated with me. I watched all of the first season and most of the second a couple of the third but I think I should go back to the beginning and watch How To Train Your Dragon 1 and then Dragon Riders: Race to the Edge and then How To Train Your Dragon 2 in preparation for the upcoming How To Train Your Dragon 3. I want to see where the story goes. I also think that the kids and I should start reading How to Train Your Dragon book series. We made it to number 11 but never read the final chapter. That was something that Eva and I really enjoyed together. Now we could bring Andrew into it as well.

Dragons An Adventure that Races to the Edge with Netflix #StreamTeam

Photo-A-Day #3755

Back when the original How to Train Your Dragon movie came out I was blown away by such an amazing story full of humor and heart. I could not wait to share the movie with my daughter, Eva. Cut to years later when we have completed reading the 11 books in the Cressida Cowell series, seen all the movies and all the TV series. We are huge fans of Dragons and now excited to be watching the new Netflix Original Series, Dragons: Race to the Edge. To better celebrate this new series the Netflix Stream Team sent us a fun Dragons: Race to the Edge box of goodies. We’ve been on the Cape for the past few weeks and so today was my first chance to show the kids the box. They were thrilled. Interactive Map of Berk from Dragons: Race to the Edge on Netflix

Dragons Race to the Edge

The brand new Netflix original series, Dragons: Race to the Edge is now out and I’ve started watching. So far it is a very good series for fans of the How to Train Your Dragon movies. Part of the show is this map of Berk and the surrounding area. There are a bunch of new places to explore and also many brand new dragons. I’ve read almost all of the books in the series and there were so many dragons in those books. We will probably see some of those in this series.

An interactive map has been created so that you can also explore the Berk and the surrounding islands. Click on the image below to go to the map.

I haven’t seen that episode quite yet but thankfully I’m part of the Netflix Stream Team and have time to binge watch the whole season.

This Friday Netflix is releasing a brand new How to Train Your Dragon series. This series has been described as “The College Years” where the Dragon riders are out and on their own. They are learning new skills and testing their limits. I’m excited to see how this show bridges the gap between How to Train Your Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon 2. It is also fun to see how certain dragons from the book make their way into the shows and movies.

Below is the official synopsis of the show. Continue reading Dragons: Race to the Edge Trailer

Taking a Dragon to the Teddy Bear Picnic

Photo-A-Day #3723

Today was the Teddy Bear Picnic that is put on each year by Project Connect. This was actually the first one that I attended. I’ve been taking Andrew to playgroup through Project Connect for the past year or more. I can’t even begin to remember when I took over the duties of taking him full time. It has been a while and it is something that Andrew has benefitted greatly from. I have also benefitted because I get to get out of the house a couple hours a week and talk with other parents. We started in a play group for kids from 1 -3 and this last session we were in the 3-4 year old session for getting ready for school. More structure and more fun, plus it is a longer time. Andrew has really thrived by being with the other kids and playing with them. So, at the Teddy Bear picnic I was surprised by how many parents I knew. DreamWorks Animation’s “Dragons: Race to the Edge” only on Netflix June 26th

Draongs: Race to the Edge Poster

A brand new adventure in the How to Train Your Dragon mythos is coming directly to Netflix. This new chapter is called Dragons: Race to the Edge and it will bridge the gap between the first movie and TV shows and the second movie. This series will show how Hiccup and his friends became so good at dragon riding and how Hiccup worked on his map of the world around him.

I am very excited about this series because for the past year Eva and I have been reading all of the How to Train Your Dragon books by Cressida Cowell. We are eagerly awaiting the release of the twelfth and final book in the series. It has been so much fun to read this with her and we will enjoy this series very much once it debuts on June 26th.

I have a couple of clips and some production stills from the show to share with you. You can see them all below as well as the official synopsis of the show. Continue reading DreamWorks Animation’s “Dragons: Race to the Edge” only on Netflix June 26th
