Hot Wheels Camaro Fifty Cars

Hot Wheels
Photo-A-Day #4424

I found a bunch of new Hot Wheels Camaro cars as part of the Camaro Fifty series. 7 of them were from a Walmart exclusive set and the other two could be found anywhere. There appears to be two different Camaro Fifty sets to collect, one with 8 cars (I’m missing the 1967 Camaro) and one with 5 cars, I’m not sure what I am missing there.

Give it Forward: Batman Power Attack Figures

Batman Power Attack Figures

I always like working with brands that have Superhero products. Mattel has a new line of Batman figures called Batman Power Attack. I found out about bloggers hosting Batman Power Attack themed parties and I inquired. I didn’t fit all of the qualifications but I proposed that I review a couple of the toys from the line and donate additional toys to Christmas is for Kids. They said sure and so I have a ton of fantastic Batman toys to donate to Christmas is for kids and a couple of cool ones for us. Batman is Eva’s favorite superhero. She once asked me to tell her all about Batman which was not easy to explain to a sensitive five year old who wouldn’t understand the intricacies of why Batman is how he is. But I must have been able to tell her something that she liked because she is now a fan and she loved these toys which are geared towards younger kids (4-8).

Christmas is for Kids Give it Forward Project Update

Photo-A-Day #2778

The christmas is for Kids Give it forward Project is going strong. When we came back from our trip to New York City there was a huge box and four smaller boxes with all sorts of things for me to review and much to give to Christmas is for Kids. I received a giant box of Batman Power Attack figures from Mattel. They are part of a box to throw a Batman Power Attack party but I was able to get the box to review and donate many of the toys to Christmas is for Kids. There are a ton of great figures that are going to be donated. I kept and reviewed a few Batman figures and one Robin figure plus the Total Destruction Batmobile. That is a pretty sweet ride. Eva and I made a video of that today and we’ll have that up in a few days.

We also received multiple packages from Blip Toys including their new Amazimals line of toys. We got three puppies that each do something different. Eva got to choose one of them to keep and review. The rest are going to Christmas is for kids including a Squinkies Zinkies set.

And last but not least was the stuff that we got from our trip to the Activision Family Game Summit in New York. Allison and I each got a bag and the bags were filled with video games, toys and more. We kept some of the stuff for ourselves and are going to buy a family Nintendo 3Ds to play all the games and we also kept some for gifts for friends as well. But the bulk of what received is going to Christmas is for kids including $20 in Target gift cards for what we as a family are going to buy. We need to do that shopping soon.

Be on the lookout for toy reviews coming very, very soon.

Review: Mattel Disney Princess Ariel And Her Sisters Doll Set

One of Eva’s favorite Disney movies is the Little Mermaid. There were actually a couple of Little Mermaid movies made and some feature Ariel’s sisters a little more prominently than The Little Mermaid did. Ariel actually has 4 sisters and she sings with them in The Little Mermaid movie. Now she can swim with them in your bathtub. Well, two of them at least, Alana and Arista. Where are the rest of the sisters? Why wasn’t there a set of all six sisters plus Ariel together made? I have no idea but being the completist that I am I would like to have seen this be a set of seven characters instead of three. But I’m not complaining because at least there are some other mermaids to play with besides Ariel and that is what we are talking about here, play. Review: Disney Princesses Swimming Ariel

When Eva was born I went out and bought a ton of rubber duckies for the bath. Granted it would be months before she was at all able to play with them but none-the-less I was going to be prepared. Well, she’s four now and while she enjoys the duckies still she has discovered so many more toys. Tops on her list has to be the Disney Princesses with Ariel being one of her all time favorites. So, when we received a Swimming Ariel doll to try out Eva was very excited. Continue reading Review: Disney Princesses Swimming Ariel

In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night

Brightest Day
Photo-A-Day #2211

Today I received a box of Green Lantern stuff. I got two power rings, a DVD called Green Lantern: First Flight, a Hardcover Secret Origin: Green Lantern Graphic Novel, a Colossal Cannon Blaster and a Hal Jordan action figure with a Battle Shifters: Blade Attack toy. Green Lantern is one of those characters that got his start in the 1940s and then was revived and revamped in the 1950s. Most people probably know the 1950s Green Lantern, Hal Jordan more than any other Green Lantern before or since. Hal Jordan was a second generation test pilot and was a man who was utterly honest and born without fear. That is the man who was sought by a dying alien named Abin Sir when Sir crash landed on earth. Between what I knew already about the character and what I learned by watching the First Flight DVD and Brightest Day Graphic Novel I am now pretty well versed in Green Lantern Lore. I’m also very excited for the upcoming Green Lantern Movie. Continue reading In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night

Having just recently returned from the Disney parks on a family vacation and having seen the concept art for Disney’s upcoming movie Tangled I was pretty excited to receive these Tangled Dolls from Mattel. There are two dolls in this review, the Rapunzel Doll and the Flynn Rider Doll. Continue reading Review: Disney’s Tangled Dolls Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
