I took Andrew over to Capron Park Zoo today. I took him using the Piggyback Rider. We’re going to go down to New York City next week for a Skylanders event and I don’t want to have to take the stroller and there is no way he’s going to walk around the city the whole time. With the Piggyback Rider I am hoping that he will be able to stand on the bar as I walk about a mile over to the place where the event will be. I don’t think we’ll do a lot of extra exploring this time around.
He did pretty well with the Piggyback Rider. He didn’t attempt to step off the bar like he’s done in the past. He made it over to the zoo with no problem but on the way home he mentioned that his legs were hurting. We did make it all the way home, however. I think that he’ll enjoy the Piggyback Rider on our trip, we are going to go super light this time. I won’t be taking my camera but I did get a new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus phone from the imagelogger program and I’ll use that as my primary camera and recording device for this trip. So, two phones, change of clothes for Andrew, the piggyback rider and some snacks. Gotta have snacks for the train. I’m looking forward to this trip. It should be a lot of fun.
I received a Piggyback rider a few years ago and it has been with us with Eva and now Andrew is enjoying it. We’ve been taking Andrew to the zoo with it and people have been asking us all about it.
I got home from the gym and to give Allison a little break I took Andrew out for a walk at the La Salette trail. I wanted to find a location in the woods to shoot photos for some Safari Limited toys that arrived the other day. I got two wolves (would have been so cool if they arrived before the Great Wolf Lodge Trip) and wanted to take photos of them in woods locations.
Andrew does so well on the piggyback rider. He likes it up there, too. We can actually have conversations while walking because I can hear him as opposed to him walking next to me and his little voice has to travel up to me. He does have the annoying habit of stepping off the bar whenever he’s all done riding. But, for the most part he rides really well.
Granted, Allison took Andrew out on the Piggyback Rider last week for the first time ever. He liked it a lot. So, today when I had Andrew for the afternoon I decided to take him over to the zoo and we would walk over using the Piggyback Rider. I’ve noticed that Andrew stand on it much more stable than Eva ever did and so it is pretty enjoyable taking him for walks using the rider. I may try going for a hike soon and see how he does. I know it can get tiring for him to stand for so long. I’m hoping that we can enjoy a nice little hike together and I can carry him in this when he does get tired of walking.
We used my NXMini to take the selfie shot in smile Mode. This time he actually smiled.
Eva and I went for a walk today. Well, I walked most of the way and Eva was upon my back in the PiggyBack Rider. I reviewed this product about a year ago when Eva was three. She did pretty well for short hops but for longer walks she got tired of standing and wanted to get off. Today I went a little over a mile with her on my back before she got tired of standing and wanted to get down. Then we walked together for another half mile back to the house. I didn’t walk as fast as yesterday but I did have an extra 30lbs on my back for most of it.
Today was a Tuesday and as such it was time again for Geek Dads Weekly. We recorded episode 114 today. Now we are also recording video of the shows so that should be fun when that is released.
Today Grandpa Dano and Mimi headed back home. We went over to Morin’s Diner for breakfast. Allison and I split some pumpkin pancakes and they were amazing! This was probably something that I wouldn’t have ordered for myself but I certainly would again. Allison said that it is good that I am enjoying pumpkins so much because she’s found a bunch of great pumpkin recipes. I say bring it on. Continue reading Marcia and the Minis→
This morning I was up early helping my Dad load his motorcycle onto his bike. I guess giving him that voucher for the Harley-Davidson iPod has really changed how he enjoys music. He went and got himself a radio with iPod dock for his bike and made himself cruising mixes. I love that he’s gotten so into the iPod technology. Continue reading Two in a Tent Having Fun→
After work Allison and I took a walk with Eva. This time however Allison wanted to try out the Piggyback Rider. Eva had a nice time on carrying Eva around on her back. She found the Piggyback Rider comfortable to use. Eva however gets bored with the long walks and she wants to get down and run around. With there being a ton of snow and ice on the ground we had to find a spot for her to run around. Luckily, there is a street that is pretty quiet so we got on either side and let her bust out. A couple of weeks ago I received a Piggyback Rider from KidStuffPR. I was excited about this because I asked for this product to review and all opinions of it are 100% mine..
The Piggyback Rider is a shoulder mounted foot bar for a child to stand on. As the parent you wear the Piggyback Rider on your back like a backpack. This fits very well and is comfortable. It clips across my chest and I can adjust the height of the bar. The bar is what is very cool about this. The bar is what Eva stands on when I take her for a Piggyback Rider ride. The video above shows how Eva and I use the Piggyback Rider. Please view the video on Youtube and leave me comments and ratings.
Another quiet afternoon at home. I spent some time working on some client projects and got into the CSS of some themes. A while back I got a copy of Microsoft Expression Web and it came in handy as I made changes to the code. It was good to get into the code too. I haven’t been that deep into code in a while and it felt real good.
This morning I awoke to another foot+ of snow in the yard. Luckily, I worked from home today so I could get up and help with the cleanup and not miss time. I also didn’t have to commute in that stuff. The snow was pretty soft and easy to move and since we packed all the cars at the top of the driveway it was pretty easy to clear out and then move everything. The sunshine on the blacktop took care of most of the rest of the snow throughout the day.
