A couple of weeks ago I sent in a bunch of items to YesVideo to be transferred to DVD. This past Monday I got an e-mail from YesVideo that told me that my videos were now ready to view online. I didn’t even realize that the videos would be made available to me online. I was delighted.
I quickly poked through all of the videos and so many memories came back to me. I was in a couple of plays in High School. I was on the tech crew and also an actor in some small roles. I showed my wife that part of my life that she had ever seen and we enjoyed that. We haven’t watched the whole video yet but I am looking forward to doing that. Today I begin a new adventure on BenSpark.com. I am an official Blog Ambassador to YesVideo. YesVideo is a service that converts your old movies, slides and photos into digital content on DVD. I like to think of them as memory protectors. To me YesVideo celebrates my memories by making them accessible again. Do you have a working 8mm projector? I certainly do not. However, I do have some great home videos from when I was a kid, when my parents were younger and those memories could be lost forever just because we can no longer experience them and see them.
In preparation for my becoming a YesVideo Ambassador I received a gift code to use with YesVideo to convert some of my media to DVDs. I went overboard and actually spent double what I was allotted and so I paid out the remainder. I sent in two 8mm reels, four VHS tapes and 96 slides. When the media returns to me I’ll be sharing what I sent and finally be able to relive some of those memories from my past.
