Coloring on Thanksgiving Morning

We enjoyed a very relaxed Thanksgiving this year. We were back at the Christmas Farm Inn. Our day started super early because Andrew was up at 3:30am and he would not go back to bed. Then Eva got up as well and it was all over. Allison and I took turns trying to catch a couple more minutes of sleep while the kids watched shows on the iPad. When we finally did get going we went down to the Inn for breakfast.

Breakfast was delicious and we had a great morning. We finished up just in time to catch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. While we watched we played games like R2-D2 Bop-It that we got from Hasbro plus Scrabble Twist that we also got from Hasbro. The kids were loving these games. Eva found it helpful to play Scrabble Twist to work on her spelling. Andrew just loved pushing the buttons on both the Bop-It and Scrabble Twist. We also colored in some placemats that we got at Target that we used at dinner and put on all the things that we were thankful for. Here are Eva’s and Mine. Andrew wrote that he wanted “everyone to be ready to go to the pool in one minute”. Allison also had a very nice one, very colorful. Continue reading Thanksgiving 2015

It was just what we needed and so when we got a message with prices at 50% off for this year we booked to come again. This time around we didn’t have to drive in a blizzard and the ride did not take 7+ white knuckled hours.

On the way up we stopped at the Poor People’s Pub once again. It is a total townie place but when I was a kid it was the best place to go and we loved it so much. I have such fond memories of this restaurant that I just have to take the kids there on these trips. Eva and I shared a pepperoni pizza, Allison got a meatball sub and Andrew a hot dog. The kids colored in some pictures from 1989 and we had a great time. Continue reading Back to the Christmas Farm Inn
