Taking Time To Smell The Flowers

Eva with Flowers
Photo-A-Day #1841

After dinner tonight Allison, Eva and I went out into the yard so I could rinse off my kayak. Eva was very interested in learning more about the kayak. She wanted to sit in it, of course she did ask after I rinsed it so she will have to wait till tomorrow. She was interested in learning more about the paddle and even wore my life jacket for a while. She carried the paddle all over the place and Allison got a great shot of her with the paddle. I took a little video of her with the paddle too and she looks like she’ll have the skills for paddling Continue reading Taking Time To Smell The Flowers

Meeting Narcolepsy

Photo-A-Day #1830

I am no fan of meetings. Rarely are meetings at all productive or interesting. I don’t often have much to say in them either because I don’t see the point of belaboring the point just to make a point that is actually rather… pointless. So when I get in a room and the air gets sucked out or heated up I start to get sleepy. I fight it as hard as I can but then the hum of the projector and the drone of a speakers voice puts me into a continual head bob neck jerk rhythm. The worst is when I shut one eye to give it some rest and keep the other eye open. The yawning becomes chronic, repetitive and will not stop. I think that when I host my next meeting I will model it after the 22 minute meeting. On the way out of work I stopped and took today’s photo of the blossoms on the trees. I noticed them on the way in and they looked great. I forget to take a photo of them each and every year. So, this year I stopped and made sure I got a shot. Up close the flowers didn’t look that great, but I think that this photo captures the delicate softness of the petals in the background. I’m also starting to figure out things like the clouds in the sky, they are not as cool as the ones from the tree last Monday.

Allison and Eva leave for Florida tomorrow. I’m sure going to miss them around here. I had no vacation time left when the trip was planned. That is okay, I’m saving my vacation time for later in the fall for trips to some blogging events. I sure will miss some time in the pool with Eva, she is swimming like a fish. She swims so well that one of the teachers suggested that Allison put Eva in a higher class. I’m pretty impressed by that. Well, early night tonight because tomorrow morning is going to come very, very soon. 4:00am, ouch.
