Now Even More Disney Movies are Streaming on Netflix! #StreamTeam

I Cant Hear You

As I am currently binging on the 5th season of Longmire, my favorite show on Netflix, I have been remiss in posting my monthly #StreamTeam Post. And there is a ton to post about. The biggest news is that Netflix is the place for streaming Disney movies. From the newest animated releases like Zootopia to compelling dramas like The Finest Hours, Netflix will be where you will go from now on to see the latest from Disney. In addition, many classic Disney moves have made their way to Netflix as well, like one of my all time favorites, Robin Hood.

Andrew and I watched Zoootopia when it was released on Netflix because he loved that movie. We shared a couple of snacks as we watched but next time we are going to try these couple of snacks to enjoy as we watch. I have a Ice Cream Sandwich Recipe and a Walking Taco Recipe for you to download and enjoy, too. In addition to the Disney movies that are available to stream on Netflix there are also movies like one of my all time favorites, Footloose. There is also another new animated show, Kulipari which has some great voice talent.

The Finest Hours Footloose Holes
Kulipari Mulan II Zootopia

Disney Infinity has Arrived, no More Work Getting Done

Photo-A-Day #3057

Disney Infinity arrived at our house today, a couple of ways. Here’s the thing… I was on a list to get a review copy of the game. Last Tuesday I got a message from the PR firm that I wasn’t on the list and wasn’t getting a copy of the game. I was flabbergasted. I’d been promoting the game and all the while had though that I was on the review list. No dice. So I sent a message to someone that I met at the Monsters U Event. We had spent about an hour talking about the game while I saw a demo of it being played. I reached out to her, she assured me that it was all a big mistake and that I’d get a copy this week.

The thing is I’m making videos of the game and, trying to, get those videos out there while people are searching for information about Disney Infinity. It is hard to be on top of things when you don’t have the game on opening day. So, we went to Toys R Us today and just bought the game. I figure that when the review copy arrives I can return one of the games and everything is copacetic. I made a little video about it.

Coming This June – Disney Infinity!

Disney is getting into the game of interactive figures that work cross platform on many video game consoles. The new game is called Disney Infinity and this is the new trailer for it.

I’ve watched the trailer a few times and here are some things I’ve noticed.

  • The platform has space for two characters and what I suspect is one for a Play Set.
  • The initial starter pack will include Sully from Monsters INC and the upcoming Monsters University, looks like the Play Set for that is Monster’s University.
  • Captain Jack Sparrow is also part of this set and I suspect many of the other pirates as well, the trailer shows Barbosa and Davy Jones at least.
  • I saw Wreck-It Ralph and that makes me happy.
  • The last figure in the starter pack is Mr. Incredible.
  • It looks like characters can use other characters signature items like Buzz Lightyear’s jet pack and wings.
  • I saw the Queen of Hearts’ Flamingo croquet mallet and more.
  • June is going to be a lot of fun for Disney video gaming fans and if Skylanders has taught us anything the buzz for this will get huge and the hunt for figures will be on.
  • Lots of speculation about characters beyond those that you can see in the trailer and how many total Play Sets will be in this first release.
  • There is also the option to create your own world in the game. That is very interesting to me.

So you have a combination of Skylanders, Minecraft and Disney. As long as the game plays well this should be a mega hit. I hope that there is something to see at Toy Fair next month.

Arr, Me Treasure Ye Not Be Stealin’

Eva is getting ready for our Pirate Pizza Party tomorrow. I picked up a bunch of candy to put in the treasure chest pinata. Now I just have to figure where to secure it so the kids can bash it to pieces to get the sugary goodness inside. Well, I figure it out. Eva was very excited to help with this task. After it was done we had to sing and dance around it like Jake and the Never Land Pirates do. Which is appropriate because that is what the kiddos are going to watch tomorrow and the parents will get copies of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on DVD and Blu-Ray. On Simple Tides

Photo-A-Day #2252

This morning I woke up and went to Falls Pond to kayak and do some fishing. I’m really enjoying getting a morning a week to do this. It is so relaxing and enjoyable. This time I had the whole pond to myself. I also brought along my headphones and listened to a couple of podcasts while I was out there. I caught up on an Episode of The Nerdist Podcast with Julie Benz and an episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast with guest Sue Costello. It was much better listening to the podcast on the water than in front of a desk like I used to do it. Continue reading On Simple Tides

I’m a fan of Disney Pin Collecting. I try to pick up one or two pins at each trip. A few trips ago I bought this “Camp Counselor” bucket hat. I wear it on each trip. The hat came with about 8 pins on it. They were generic ones for Animal Kingdom. I traded many of those ones for this set of animated characters dressed as Pirates of the Caribbean characters. They are sold as a set which I didn’t find until I had the whole set anyway from individual pin trading.

I have also picked up pins for Eva from each of our trips. There are cheaper starter packs of pins out there too so I was able to pick up a couple so that on Eva’s next trip she can do some trading. She already has no problem talking to the characters, I doubt she’d have any trouble doing pin trading with the cast members.
