Laser Maze Jr.

We received a copy of Laser Maze Jr. from ThinkFun to play with and review. Opinions of the toy are 100% our own. If you have a young puzzler in your house then this is great for their Christmas gift list.

I was planning on playing this game with the kids last week when we were on our thanksgiving vacation but I didn’t open it before the trip and so didn’t put in the two AAA batteries. So, today I put the batteries into the game. Andrew and I went through the the easy and the medium puzzles together. I then tried the last one of the puzzles in the game and I found it pretty challenging myself. Andrew wanted to help with that one and he did. I liked how he began to pick up the way the game worked right away.

The great thing about this game, which is rated for six and up, is that the game can still be played by my four year old son. I was able to teach Andrew a bit about how light and lasers work. We were also able to talk a bit about angles and mirrors. Of course, I had to keep reminding him not to stick his fingers directly onto the mirrors. Photo-A-Day #3441

I’m gearing up to spend all day long with Andrew. Allison is going back to work in a week and it will just be Andrew and I from 8 to 4 every day Tuesday through Friday. I think this time together is actually going to help our relationship a lot. Andrew and I don’t spend that much one on one time together because I’m usually working on things. Now it will be he and I all day each day trying to stay entertained and engaged. Hopefully there will be naps. He does like games and puzzles and he was so proud of each puzzle that he makes.
