Five new LEGO Dimensions Expansion Packs Released Today

Wave 9 of LEGO Dimensions Year 2
Photo-A-Day #4535

Teen Titans go, The Powerpuff girls and Beetlejuice join in the fun in LEGO dimensions. Five brand new expansion packs were released. There were three fun packs and two team packs released. With that there are three new areas to explore and for the first time an exclusive animated episode from Teen Titans Go! I received the five expansion packs yesterday for free to play with and review. Opinions are my own.

When the LEGO Dimensions expansion packs arrived I started building right away. I built Beetlejuice first because I am a child of the 80’s and was looking forward to this crazy character and his sand worm vehicle. I saved the Teen Titans Go! sets to build with Andrew because he is the biggest fan in the house of that show. Here is the trailer of the new packs.

I spent the day building as many of the LEGO Dimensions characters that I could. In addition to all of Wave 9 I had a bunch that I hadn’t done yet, some from wave 1 of year one. But at this point I am all but finished with building the sets except for two last Level Packs from Year One. I built Beetlejuice and the Sand Worm and then all of the Powerpuff girls figures and vehicles. I saved Teen Titans Go! for Andrew to build. He is the big fan of that show and he was over the moon to build all three figures and then their vehicles.

Now, I haven’t played with the figures in their own dimensions yet. The issue is that I ran out of room for the LEGO Dimensions files on my Wii U and had to store them on the USB connected drive. The issue there was that I only had a 16GB flash drive connected and that wasn’t enough to move the LEGO Dimensions files over and then download the new ones. So I had to format one of my older USB drives. I spent part of the day backing up and transferring files. I only just finished so now I am downloading all the files I need to actually play with the new characters in their dimensions.

I can tell you that the figures and vehicles look great and the voices of the characters are also awesome. I particularly like Beast Boy because he is voiced by Greg Cipes. I like all that he does. The Beast Boy figure can turn into a bird and fly or slam the ground like a dolphin and fling snakes. I know that I am going to enjoy exploring all the different things the characters can do and I am looking forward to watching that exclusive episode that is most likely downloading in the next room at the moment. LEGO Dimensions – The Goonies, LEGO City Undercover, Hermione Granger

We received three LEGO Dimensions packs today from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for free to play with and review. Opinions are our own. The packs we received were: The Goonies Level Pack, The LEGO City Undercover Fun Pack and the Harry Potter Themed Hermione Granger Fun Pack.

From a purely LEGO build standpoint these are some great minifigs and micro build sets. I was especially impressed with how One-Eyed Willy’s Pirate Ship was assembled. It even has mini cannons! The Sloth minifig looks great down to the funky teeth and special headpiece and signature Superman t-shirt. The Buckbeak build was a fun one to do and he looks regal in his pose. You know how hippogriffs can be. I’m excited to play in the adventure world for LEGO City Undercover. I loved that game in and of itself and so glad that it was added to LEGO Dimensions. I made a video showing all of the sets and talked about how they were built. I do not have any gameplay at this time but below my video is the press release that introduces these sets plus a special “Meet That Hero!” video that introduces everyone to the Goonies.

Review: LEGO Dimensions – The LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack and Excalibur Batman Packs

Photo-A-Day #4327

I received the Story Pack for The LEGO Batman Movie for LEGO Dimensions from Warner Interactive Entertainment to play with and review. This is a review of the LEGO pieces for the game with some limited gameplay, but not much. More gameplay will happen in another video

This past Saturday I went and saw the LEGO Batman Movie. It was a lot of fun and it made really excited to get home to the package that was waiting for me with the LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack for LEGO Dimensions. I could not wait to play it. However, I would have to wait a few more days until today to actually get to play the game. There was also the downloading of the new software updates but I was smart about that, I got that done in the morning so that I could play the game when it came time to get down to playing.

The Story pack comes with the Bat Computer ” ‘Puter” plus Batgirl and Robin. Batgirl is considered a Bonus Minifig for the game. There is also the vehicle, the Batwing that can also become Black Thunder and the Bat Tank. The Scuttler would have been cool but that would have been super complicated to make with this set. You also have to have the Batman minifig that comes with the starter pack to get the game started. This figure then becomes the LEGO Batman character from the movie. Robin can do a fun costume change but I won’t tell you what it is in case you haven’t already seen the movie. Robins abilities are: Acrobat, Illumination, Fix-It, Dive, Vent Access and when he does his Suit Rip he can: Vine Cut, Laser Deflector, Pole Vault and Glide. Batgirl can throw batarangs and she is also very smart and can solve puzzles. Here abilities are: Boomerang, Grapple, Rope Swing, Detective Mode, Stealth, Glide and High Security Access.

We also opened the Excalibur Batman figure which comes with the Bionic Steed. Excalibur Batman has the abilities of – Boomerang, Sword Switch, Vine Cut, Stealth, Laser Deflector, Grapple, Super Strength and Master Build. The Bionic Steed can be reconfigured into the Bat-Raptor and the Ultrabat.

Gameplay with all the characters was really fun. We had a good time playing and these would certainly be welcome additions to any player’s collection of LEGO Dimensions. Here is our video including a bat computer speed build.

Holy New Fun Packs, Batman!! LEGO Batman Story Pack is Out Today! – LEGO Dimensions

Batman Robin and Batgirl

I’ve been anticipating the release of this new LEGO Batman Story Pack for weeks, mostly because I just kept seeing Target’s put it out on the shelves early. Teases! I’m also going to see the LEGO Batman movie tomorrow night thanks to LEGO!! I’m very excited for this and can’t wait to talk about it with Brian!

For now check out the gameplay trailer for this Story Pack!

There are actually three other new packs that came out today as well: The LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack, the Excalibur Batman Fun Pack and Knight Rider Fun Pack — includes new characters, vehicles and Adventure Worlds, expanding the LEGO Dimensions world even further. LEGO Dimensions Releases Wave 6 Today

LEGO Dimensions Packs
Photo-A-Day #4185

Today LEGO Dimensions released a whole bunch of new sets as part of Wave 6. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment sent me a couple of packs for free to review. They are the Ghostbusters Story Pack and the Mission Impossible Level Pack. I also pre-ordered the B.A. Baracus Fun Pack and the Harry Potter Team Pack. I was planning on getting everything up and ready to go today and do some unboxing videos but I forgot that I had to update the software and that takes some time. Once I did that then I had to download the level packs. Because Tuesdays are crazy busy all around I did not end up with videos made.

Once we got home from all the errands I played a little on the Wii U Gamepad while the kids watched TV. I think I have to go and play with the full TV on next time so I can see everything. I seemed to be missing out on some things. So, tomorrow I’ll be making the videos. In the meantime you can see my vlog from today and after the jump you can read about all the new things with LEGO Dimensions Year 2.

King Richard’s Faire Was Cancelled. What Did We Do?

LEGO Dimensions Time
Photo-A-Day #4163

For the first time ever, in our experience, King Richard’s Faire got cancelled on a day that we were planning to go. With the possibility of high winds and rain the Faire was cancelled for today. Unfortunately for me, it was pretty much the only day I could go. I hope to get there with the family at some point this year, but we’ll see.

So, instead we started the day with breakfast over at Bliss Bros. Dairy. I knew the kids would be disappointed that we weren’t going, so a fun breakfast out might ease the disappointment. The kids were good and they had a nice time. They were very well behaved, too.

We got home and Eva dug out her Drabbit that she won last year at the Faire. Andrew wanted his, too and I got it for him. They then played with them for a while and it made them feel better about missing the Faire.

I also let them open LEGO Dimensions fun packs and play the game with me. Andrew opened Superman and Eva opened Unikitty. We’re enjoying this game more and more.

I got some outdoor work done including cutting back the Wisteria, mowing the lawn and more.

In today’s vlog I mention my friend, Justin Connors. He had a photo of his go viral and I wanted to help spread the word. So check it out and check out his vlog at https://www.youtube.com/user/Lifein140.

Jurassic World Raptor Riding
Jurassic World Raptor Riding

E3 has put out so many amazing bits of information. Some great new stuff from LEGO Dimensions was released and I had so little time to cover this yesterday. The game just expanding more and more and more. It is amazing. LEGO Dimensions just announced Portal 2 as part of the game plus The Simpsons and Jurassic World. Check out this new trailer now to get an idea of the coolness factor that has gotten amped up with LEGO Dimensions. Just Wow.

I’m not sure if I fully understand all of the ways in which this new LEGO toy pad can be used. It looks like there is a myriad of functionality to it that enhances the overall gameplay in a very significant way. You are going to have to be right there on top of things with this game because of all the crazy cool puzzle functions. This trailer makes me even more excited to get my hands on this game.

In addition to the new trailer I received a number of great screenshots of the game plus some shots of the new sets. I will post those below along with the official press release.

Oh and you can pre-order this great game on Amazon.com
