Disney’s Second Go Round with their Infinity video game franchise launched today. It was just sort of there. I went to a few stores and saw very few people clamoring to buy the figures. One store hadn’t even had the display set up yet.
I did end up buying a few figures, Captain America and Rocket Raccoon from Infinity 2.0 and Sorcerer Mickey from 1.0 because he was the last one I needed to collect from that series. My review copy of the game has not yet arrived despite my efforts to hasten the arrival by opening the front door and pace for the delivery man.
When the virtual world and the real world work together it can be pretty great. Club Penguin is having a very special event from September 18 – October 1, 2014. During this event players can clean up the Club Penguin university and also participate in a scavenger hunt. What will this do in the real world? Well Club Penguin and Free the Children will build three real world schools in India, Ecuador and Haiti. They will also donate 14,000 backpacks across the US on behalf of the Club Penguin players.
