Playing With Light

Playing With Light
Photo-A-Day #1461

I received a birthday card from my grandmother and grandfather today. She put some confetti in it. I thought it would look cool in a glass of water in the dark with flashlights shined upon it. I got out the tripod, flashlight and a headlamp. I set up the camera so that the macro was set to shoot the glass. I set the focus and shut off the lights. I then hit the shutter, flicked on the flashlight a couple of times. I got a bunch of really noisy ones and this one was the best of the bunch. Oh and I forgot to put in the confetti.

I’m trying to be more creative and use my manual settings more. I read this really great post from another person who is doing the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge. He put together 33 strategies to Creative Capital. The post was really good with some great ideas. I’m learning some great stuff from this challenge and meeting some nice people along the way.

Today’s challenge was to promote a post. Since I really liked the 10 Essential Items for IZEAFest 2009 post that I wrote yesterday I went towards promoting that one. However, the great one that needs the most promotion right now is for Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II. I really need comments for that post and hope that you take the time to do that as well as take the time to join my IZEA Insider crew the “I’m Not A Famous Blogger” Crew on SocialSpark.

Our Truest Life is When We are in our Dreams Awake

Our Truest Life is When We are in our Dreams Awake

I’m not exactly sure how to interpret this one. It is one of the cooler fortunes that I’ve gotten in a while.

What this means to me

This FortunateBluFrog Fortune means to me that when we are truly happy then we are living our truest life. Dreams mean happiness, for example, what is your “Dream Job” that implies that the job would be the best fit for you and you would be so happy doing the job. Basically a dream job would be one where you wouldn’t care if you got paid or not, you’d still do the work with a smile. For me, blogging is that Dream Job. I’d love to be able to blog every day full time for myself, write whatever I want and get paid for it, paid enough to live. I’m not talking making mega money, just what we would need to live comfortably and debt free, and maybe take a few trips each year and not have to worry about a budget. Yep, that would be my dream job and if I was able to do that then I would be truly awake in my dream.

Making the Dream a Reality

This is the scary part. I’ll just keep at it each day and learn as much as I can from people I will network with and help as many people as I can so that I can gain a better understanding of how to achieve my dream.
